It was pretty much a bust because the moon disappeared into low clouds almost as soon as it came up. But when I turned around to walk back to shore, I was treated to this beautiful sunset scene. Sometimes there's just the right amount of junk in the atmosphere. The reason the ice is so blue is that it was like glass from several days of melting and re-freezing and reflected the sky like a mirror.
