Post your OOC JPEGs!

I'm serious considering purchasing a Q this week but I would really love to see what the OOC JPEGs look like. I currently shoot with a Sony A7RII and 99% of the time my go-to lens is the Zeiss Batis 25mm f/2. My only complaint with the Sony is I'm not very fond of the colours. I like to post my images directly on social media so the OOC JPEGs do really matter to me. Please help me with my decision by posting some of your OOC JPEGs with your Q! Thank you!

If you explain what OOC means you may get a better response.

I hope you do not mind me saying so, but a Leica Q seems a bit OTT (over the top!) for posting on social media.

Why not consider the Leica D-Lux which has an equally fast lens and would give you excellent results for social media? And would save money.

Okay. Straight out of the camera. Normally I'd raise the exposure and level in LR, but you asked for OOC.

Sunrise on Pikes Peak and the Air Force Academy this morning.

Apologies for the exposure being so off. Definitely operator error and not the camera.

I agree with over the top. Consider the Leica T if all you use is JPG, or something less. Then the OP can still use their Zeiss lens with the T. But, if you don't mind spending the money for a Farrari but driving it like a Pinto, no problem with that. The Q is superb. I am probably dating myself with "Pinto" comparison ha!

I might go a step further and suggest that even T photos are much improved through RAW processing.

The Q produces pretty good JPGs out of camera actually. I don´t think the OPs desire to want to use the Q for this is wrong.

Last summer i was on a trip and wanted to share pics directly on Instagram and Facebook while on the trip. The app worked perfect with providing me with good pics, and when I got home I could further process the RAW files. So shoot both and post whatever works for you.

I can appreciate that one may consider the Q OTT for posting on social media. But where else would someone share their images with their friends? I do post-process in LR most of the time when I have the opportunity, but I still think there must be difference in the DNG files from Sony to Leica to Fuji to whoever. However, when I'm on travels I would like to share directly from camera without having to pull out the laptop.

I've always been very attracted to the M cameras but I definitely feel I would get more use out of the Q with it's AF. (I do however absolutely love the manual focusing tab on the lens barrel however. I've had a chance to play with a Q for just a few short moments once and it blew me away how smooth and accurate it felt.)  I'm not a pro photographer, just a hobbyist and enthusiast who enjoys taking nice photographs!

I am a hobbyist as well, and you are absolutely correct. The Q's images are superb, as well as its capacity in low light, and its lightning fast focus.

Totally understand. If you don't mind spending the bucks, go for it! It's a great travel camera. And the jpgs won't disappoint. There are plenty of settings also for adjusting the jpgs so can't necessarily rely on what people might post. Adjust it to your taste. When I see people complain about colors, usually they haven't done much with the settings.

I would not discourage you from the Q, it's a superb instrument.  Here are a couple examples of JPG's that are strictly OOC.  I'm new to this camera and frankly have not even tried to post process RAW files yet.  I'd like to hone my skills without the countless pp options that await me when I think I'm good enough. For now the camera is quite sophisticated and challenging enough.

The Leica Q OOC Jpegs are very good, and there are a lot of parameters that one can adjust, within the camera, to fine-tune them (too many indeed for me to really decide!)

There are a lot of discussions on the Q jpegs, among others one where I posted a fullsize jpeg in total backlight, Sun in the pic, here: http://www.l-camera-forum.com/topic/268012-complete-beginner-my-first-camera-is-the-q-help-and-tips-please/?view=findpost&p=3180879

i for one shoot raw + jpeg, and have come to consider using the raw only in the 1% of cases it's needed. (and, I would add, half of those come from mistakes I made :-)

I totally agree. PP is not fun to me so I too shoot raw+jpg and mostly use the later.

For me the real beauty of the Q is not the image quality which is of course superb but the intuitive handling. Coming from an X100 it feels more like a camera and less of a computer (slow at that) with a lens. The Q just feels right in hand and through the viewfinder and doesn't get in the way.

Most of my pics have been .dng processed in Lightroom.  There was a pixel row error and I just received my Q from Leica with a new sensor.  I'm not sure if I had been using odd jpeg settings, but I was pleasantly surprised that some jpegs I took today look pretty good. This image only has a slight crop and the brightness reduced a bit.
