The first image is quite arresting, leaves you puzzling for a moment and then invites you back, I really enjoyed the process. (And the rest of the series too!)

Thanks

Charles

Many thanks, Charles.  I always love hearing from you!

Excellent series, I especially like the first two. I wasn't aware film could produce such good results, and I'm interested to know what the dominant technical factor is in producing quality such as this. So many variables: lens, film, processing, scanning, dust management, and maybe more.

Thanks, Steve. For me, it is really all about the colors, skin tones and color palette options depending on film choice.

It requires considerably more effort.

But one thing is for sure is that it will transcend your photography to a conpletely new level. That's what it did for me, anyway

I adore the 2nd one.

That cigarette with the lipstick; the ash yet to fall; the dark red nails. And her voice... I'm sure I can hear the gravelly tones in what ever language she is speaking (She must be talking).

And then there is the outrageous composition. The would ever think of placing the point of the picture on the very edge of the frame?

The great, but sadly late Saul Leiter used the technique placing subjects at the edge. The eye is attracted as demonstrated by Adam.
