JOBO CPE 3 failure......Question

Unit is fairly new.

Filled basin with water, plugged it in, light came on. I left to wait until water heated to proper temperature. Came back half hour later to find light out and water at room temperature. JOBO unit will not re-energize.

1. Located reset button on CPE-3. Found that it had not popped out. Did not need to be re-set. Pressed it anyway....to no avail.

2. Verified there is power to the electrical socket into which the unit is plugged.

Has anyone had a similar problem with a JOBO unit?

Best regards,

Well, I was adventurous and called Catlabs (sp?) to get some advice. Determined there is an internal fuse (T1.6AL 250V) fuse in the machine. It is fairly simple to access, and not hard to replace............if you have a replacement on hand.

Wayne you bought an automat Jobo ?

May be water is too cold in winter and need much energy

Well we will see your color pictures soon on film thread ! :)

I develop also myself but manually  :) in Patterson tank and water bath

with a  thermostatically controlled electric plate.

Best

Thanks Henry. Yes, it is the automatic rotary processing unit. I had not thought of the cold water possibility, but I have processed, starting with colder water, in the past. But, you could be correct. Fuses are on order and, hopefully, I will be back in business soon. The thing that puzzles me is the fact that the reset button on the unit did not pop out before the fuse burned.

I must say, I am a fan of the color photos you post; the fact that I now know you process your own color film will add to my enjoyment.

OBTW, all the color shots I have posted on "I like film" were processed using the JOBO. I had a day off yesterday, and intended to spend the day processing some color 35mm and 6x9 shots.

When the JOBO broke down............I cursed.
