madNbad Posted January 11, 2017 Share #1 Posted January 11, 2017 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Last week while working on some changes for my M6 Millennium, I went to Don Goldberg's' website to order a black dot. Among the items he has listed there was a 3 prong "tulip" style replacement take up for M2/3 bodies. I had tried a quick load kit in my M2 and struggled with it, having a number of misloads and not much success, I traded it away and bought a few extra take up spools. When I saw this 3 prong replacement spool, I decided to give it a try since I don't have the extra cash lying around for the near mint M2-R at a local shop. When I asked about installation, Don stated simply slide it onto the take up shaft and leave it there for an M2. With the M3 it needs to be pulled out a bit, like the quick load to reset the frame counter. He also stated there was no need to change the base plate. The only problem I can see is the aligment shaft for the removable spool. The photos on his website show the three prong spool installed but the aligment shaft has been removed. It should arrive in the next day or so but I wanted to ask if anyone has used one of these before? An feed back would be appreciated and you can view the setup at DAG Cameras website.
