Hamburger Steak Japanese Style.

By the way this is our everyday type of food. No fancy surroundings, Food is the subject here. Not really ready for Gourmet Magazine. ;)

Sorry, it's a little out of focus maybe. I was too hungary when I took the picture. :D

Our numerous family - we have three children and nine grand-children - gives many opportunities to celebrate anniversaries. Normally at our house, and always with mostly home-made food. Here are a few recent "anniversary cakes". Chocolate - Belgian black, of course - and marzipan are the most common coverage and "sculpture" ingredients. My wife, daughter and grand-daughter are the talented  "chefs".

And now, after desserts, some salted dishes. Let us start with a typical Portuguese cod preparations : the "bacalhau a Braz", decorated with olives; it is much sweeter, refined and tasty than the basic, highly salted cod so popular over here. This one was prepared by our grand-daughter's fiancé.

To follow, my wife proposes her marvelous lard cake, or - for vegetarians - two of her vegetables pie-tartes, with or without cheese.
