earleygallery Posted December 17, 2016 Share #1 Posted December 17, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) I bought a 'new' R3 body earlier this year to replace my faulty unrepairable body. I used it for the first time at the One Challenge in Portugal (brought it home, as it was made there). I found out when I got home unfortunately that there was a dreaded light leak from the rear door film window. I did check the seals and they looked fine. Fortunately the leak was only in the strongest direct sunlight and as I was also using an ERC I only lost a couple of frames at the start of each roll. I sent Leica an email to see if they still stocked the rear foam seals and was surprised to find that they do. The new part arrived in the post today I'll replace all other seals whilst I'm at it. Tony Mac Posted December 18, 2016 Share #2 Posted December 18, 2016 Good to know they're still making or stocking parts for the R series... love my R6.2 and hope they can still fix it when problems arise.

I wouldn't hold out too much hope on actual repairs - I did ask about a shutter repair to my original and owned from new R3 before and it was a resounding no can do. Good old days, good old days were service was still service !
