inglis Posted November 29, 2016 Share #1 Posted November 29, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) I see discussions of the Elcan 75mm f2 model 341 Leica R mount lens. For example, the following links discuss the f2 lens: http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-wiki.en/index.php/Talk:75mm_f/2_Elcan-R http://gmpphoto.blogspot.com/2015/01/elcan-high-resolution-35mm-camera.html But there is also the Elcan R 3 inch f2.8 model 340 lens. Does anyone know anything about this lens, when they were made or for what purpose? Were these lenses originally in Leica R mount and do they share the same optical configuration of the Elcan R 75mm f2 model 341 lens? Advertisement Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 Hi inglis, Take a look here Elcan Leica R mount 3 inch 2.8 model 340 lens?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jankap Posted December 1, 2016 Share #2 Posted December 1, 2016 An excellent reference is: thorsten@overgaard.dk and then Leica Lens Compendium I have the 180mm and am happy with it. It is often criticized, that the lens is optimized for infinity. Less good at moderate distances. The Elcan lenses are not designed with the general use as design goal. Looking for distant submarines or so. Jan I lived at the Berliner Platz for a while, viewing at the Hohentwiel.
