Advertisement Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 Hi Guest NEIL-D-WILLIAMS, Take a look here Noctilux for the S007. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
John McMaster Posted November 23, 2016 Share #2 Posted November 23, 2016 Somewhat unlikely given they haven't even made a Summilux yet. The DoF for a given aperture is smaller on the S range so less need for a Noctilux from that viewpoint, also the CA in the asph lens would probably not be accepted for the S range ;-) john
albertknappmd Posted November 23, 2016 Share #3 Posted November 23, 2016 The closest you will ever see is the 100mm f/2... Albert

jip Posted November 23, 2016 Share #6 Posted November 23, 2016 I tried that lens albert and didn't like it.............. I preferred the 120mm You prefer the 120 because its 'better' than the 100 F2, this would also mean you would not like a Noctilux, since the Noctilux has a lot of flaws I hate about it. John McMaster Posted November 23, 2016 Share #8 Posted November 23, 2016 But if the summerlux was a 135 then it would be impossibility to use with a adaptation I have tried to understand that in various ways (even allowing for errors) and none of them make sense...... john
Guest NEIL-D-WILLIAMS Posted November 23, 2016 Share #9 Posted November 23, 2016 You prefer the 120 because its 'better' than the 100 F2, I didn't say that..................what I sad was that I preferred it to the 100mm f2 lens On another note the Noctilux 0.75 is an amazing lens, and the only lens that I wish I had not sold :(
John McMaster Posted November 23, 2016 Share #10 Posted November 23, 2016 Not surprising even if you had that rare lens rather than the 0.95 us lessers have ;-) john

hoppyman Posted November 24, 2016 Share #12 Posted November 24, 2016 wishing for a Noctilux S 70???? I can't even image, how big, expensive and difficult it would be to nail focus!I tried the Summicron S 100 briefly at minimum focus distance and wide open. Get the focus right on the eye catchlight (I think I got it nearly right in one of 7) and the eyelashes are perceptibly softer http://www.l-camera-forum.com/topic/247391-studio-portraits-s-cameras/page-5 #
Jeff S Posted November 24, 2016 Share #13 Posted November 24, 2016 Neil, you may now be a medium format guy, but you're still living in a 35mm world. There are tradeoffs. Jeff
Sandokan Posted November 24, 2016 Share #14 Posted November 24, 2016 Zeiss 110/2? Has less DoF on 6x6 than the Noctilux on 24x36

Just because it had a aperture of 0.95 didn't mean to say that it had to be shot at 0.95. I just liked the rendering of the lens and most of the time didn't shoot it fully open. John McMaster Posted November 24, 2016 Share #17 Posted November 24, 2016 If you shot it most of the time stopped down (i.e. not fully open), my choice would have been the 50mm Summicron APO Asph... john

Jeff S Posted November 24, 2016 Share #20 Posted November 24, 2016 (edited) Maybe so but, that doesn't mean to say that I can't have a preference. Sure, but then you need a camera system to implement that preference, which in this case would not be medium format. You really want an M, too, but just don't want to admit it (or maybe you're still learning the tradeoffs between MF and 35mm).
