Thanks, Gentlemen.  This was one of our coldest snow blizzards one record.

great peek from behind the umbrella, and icicles on lettering, feels cold!

Great work, one of the best in the series in my opinion.

This image really hit me in the eye, it is so good on so many levels. Firstly I love the blur of the snow which adds a frontal layer to the image as though it was shot through glass of some kind and softens the form of certain elements. The colour palette with the orange echoes in the building and the street cart, coupled with the three small dashes of red in the umbrella, the coat and the hand cart, is absolutely superb. And then there is that wonderful red cube adding an abstract dimension all of its own. Because of the forward colour of the red and the fact that it is sitting just on one point it appears to be floating in space on a separate plane to the rest of the image.

There are so many planes through this image. Absolutely wonderful,

Gerry

Why would you assume it is cropped?

The proportions look more like 16:9 than 3:2 (35mm) to me, Gerry. I'm just curious because I'm a bit of non-cropper at heart and tend to find that if I crop one of my own photos and then go back and look at it uncropped, the latter often seems more pleasing. Anyway this is going off-topic and I wouldn't want to derail a good thread like this.

Thanks a lot, Gerry.  I really appreciate your thoughtfulness.

Hi Ian - Yes With my 28mm there was just too much street at the bottom so I reframed the image in a 16x9.  I only removed white snowy street and brought the action across the street closer to the eye.  I wish I had an Xpan handy but I didn't :(

Yes, this is great, Adam – one of your best. Intrigued what you cropped away (top, bottom or both?).

Thanks, Paul!!  Nice hearing from you!

Brilliant set of pictures Adam - I am sure that you must have the makings of a great book here.

Thanks very much, Gerry.  The only thing that I can do when it stops snowing for the season is dream of the next season's blizzards :)

And so the collection grows with another good image. What are you going to do when it stops snowing?

Keep them coming.

Gerry

Hey Marc - great to hear from you.  Hope you're enjoying your digital schtick :)  To answer your questions, oh yes, a flash was most certainly used... :)

Hey Adam...hope all is will.  Did you happen to use flash to illuminate her face?

Really like this one, partly for the various signs on the window.
