David, thanks for your comment. Yes, a glancing light would perhaps add some mystery, but it would create a different photograph, don't you think? Despite the title of my post, apparently misleading (unintentionally, apologies for that), what attracted me to taking the shot were the details on the walls and the columns. These are, of course, a work of time (the ruins stand there for twenty-five centuries), but the afternoon light turned them into remnants of some artistic act.
