We've held off buying shoes for my son but as he's nearly walking and we wanted something to keep his feet warm on long walks we finally gave in a bought a pair.

beautiful rugged shoes in which he certainly makes one step after another - do not forget to get warm feet

i like the second photo well, because :

pity only the children so fast out of the shoes .....

Thank you for looking and your comments. They are good rugged shoes, they are officially called 'cruisers' as you can use them before they're walking. We only use them outside though as I think no shoes is better to get him walking. A friend of mine in Australia has just made him some nice warm booties for winter to keep toes warm!

Years ago people used to have the first shoes bronzed (plated) to preserve after use. Is this done in Europe?

Years ago people used to have the first shoes bronzed (plated) to preserve after use. Is this done in Europe?

I hadn't heard of it so I did a quick Google and it would seem that there are companies doing this still.

 

We took a selection of our son's first clothes and have sent them off to be made into a stuffed toy patchwork lion for us to keep. They are all hand sewn and they even weight it to his exact birth weight.
