My instruction manual from Leica says that I can set the White Balance on my D-Lux 109 only in PASM mode (not it SnapShot mode) by pressing the WB button and making a selection. However, when I try this, the only way to get the WB button to respond is to put the camera into SnapShot mode by pressing the 'A' button.

Snap shot mode is indicated by the A with a red background. ( upper left portion of screen) . Press the A on top of the camera once again, and it will take it out of snap shot mode, which is now an A with a black background .and now you can set your white balance, etc.

Hope that was what you were looking for.
