Any reason why you would not? The S(006) firmware also contains updates for the lenses.

I have an 006 and see no reason to update based on the stated refinements. I have no immediate plans to go to Iceland and do not have an SL. If the functioning of  S lenses on a S body is improved by the update, I would certainly would. From the Leica site:

John, sorry to say, but I suspect Wetzlar considers the "update" for you dedicated S2 shooters to be the 007.

In a recent shoot, my friend's 006 started lagging when tethered. His firmware was not up to date. Dropping the battery helped, but it would happen again in a few shots. He switched to my up to date 006 and it worked fine. You can never tell what effects untested combinations of software versions will have.

The bug did apparently not only affect Iceland... A while back I asked Leica for a fix, they answered very friendly that they work on a firmware fix - which they just released. Hope this cures the problem described in the other thread.

The GPS problem on the 006 was anywhere in the norther hemisphere, also in Norway and sometimes even on the norther islands of the Netherlands (my own actual experience)
