Guest camera man Posted September 22, 2016 Share #1 Posted September 22, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Can I use all the E55 B+W filters on the 90mm APO? Leica say that you cannot use the Leica #13335 Polar Filter due to the rear glass of the filter too close to the front element of the lens. So does this cause a problem for all B+W E55 coloured filters? Leica say " make sure the distance from the rear filter glass surface to the plane circumscribed by the rear rim of the filter mount is at least 1.8mm (5/64"). The Leica Circular polarizing Filter E55 Order no. 13335 cannot be used on this lens".

fotomas Posted September 22, 2016 Share #2 Posted September 22, 2016 Can't tell for all B+W filter, but I made a test with B+W MRC and Heliopan SH-PMC filters without any trouble.
mmradman Posted September 22, 2016 Share #3 Posted September 22, 2016 No issue with B+W filters on APO 90mm. Even problematic Leica polariser 13335 is usable with some lateral thinking - I use spacer created by removing glass from old Hoya skylight filter.

Guest camera man Posted September 28, 2016 Share #6 Posted September 28, 2016 I see Leica have changed the part number for the E55 Polar Filter to 13047. May be you can now use the new polar on the APO 90mm?
