I'm sure this will have been discussed before.....but I can't find it.  So if it has please point me there!

Currently using an M6TTL, and have 3 M lenses - Cron 50, Cron 90 and a Voigtlander 35/1.4.  I'm looking for a digital camera to take around with me more often (film is not always most convenient) and, whilst I would love an M240, funds don't allow.  Looking at the PEN F or another M43 camera as I know MetaBones produces a well-reviewed lens adapter for M to M43.

However, is it worth it considering using the M lens on the M43?  Can you still see that Leica pop on the smaller sensor?  Wlcome views and thoughts form those that have tried.

With the 2x crop factor, some of that Leica look is lost and the lenses are a bit long. I ended up buying the Pansonic Leica m43 primes. What is fantastic on an m43 camera that has in-body image stabilization is the Noctilux acting as a fast 100mm lens perfect for low light gigs and that still delivers the Leica look.

I'd seriously consider a 2nd hand M8/8.2/9 as James has suggested. Your images will keep their soul.

An M9 with a replaced sensor or an M8.2 can both be had for modest sums.

I'm not very keen on 4/3rds sensors .Although vastly improved over the last few years, I still find fine structures, especially greens, a bit mushy. As said, get an M8 or M9, wonderful files.

In the interests of reassuring myself that an M43 was sufficient, I went and tried an M240 and M9 this afternoon. Just to be sure.

I am now the proud owner of a pre-owned M9, with new sensor.  Mrs Kentishrev will not be pleased.  You are all a terrible influence, but thank you.
