insf Posted September 17, 2016 Share #1 Posted September 17, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hey all, I've been struggling with the focus of my 75mm Summarit - it's clearly back-focusing. Can I send my lens in to get recalibrated without sending my camera as well? I really am not interested in losing my camera for any serious amount of time. Also, is this something that can be reliably done without sending to Leica service? Has anyone used DAG to address an issue like this? Thanks in advance! Advertisement Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 Hi insf, Take a look here 75mm Summarit Back Focusing. Next steps?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted September 17, 2016 Share #2 Posted September 17, 2016 Yes you can. The only reason Leica asks for the camera is to make sure that it is indeed only the lens that is out of adjustment. If you are looking for a quick turnaround you might consider one of the well-known third party repairers. It is well within their competence. TomB_tx Posted September 17, 2016 Share #3 Posted September 17, 2016 DAG can do an excellent job, and probably very quickly. He just calibrated focus on my 90 Summarit (2.5 - which wasn't far off, but is perfect now). The last few jobs I sent him were done in a few days.
