Hello,

I have several Leica Camera's and I would like to confirm that I have identified them correctly since each one has several variants and potential modifications.

I've used https://www.cameraquest.com/ltmnum.htm to narrow each camera down but I can't figure out if what I have has any details that may make it unique or even a fake.

Leica IIIF from 1952 or 1953?

Serial number is 640813

with Leitz Elmar 50mm 1:3.5

It looks legit from the photo. Database does say that serial number is a iiif from 1952/possibly into 1953. The strap is definitely a iiif strap. It doesn't look to have the tell-tale 'fake' signs, with the viewfinder windows...also, take the lens off and check the cam roller. There's websites which describe and show the features of a fake Leica. There are others on the forum who may respond though, who have greater expertise than I do. I have a iiif Red Dial, Self Timer. Your photo is also of a red dial, and they had the 1/25 vs. the 1/30 shutter speed that the black dial did, so that also checks out on your camera photo.

Awsome thx for replying back....

I had difficulty figuring out if this was a red dial or not... it seems there were 3 versions and and the other one has a lever for the timer... mine does not.

I loaded a pic without the lens.

My IIIf was upgraded in 1962? from a IIf.

The upgrade included a CLA, the addition of the 1/25 dial and the self timer.

Perhaps even the IIf was upgraded from a If, but that I don´t know.

My camera does not have the 2 indicated screws. The number is "674 601", in 2 groups of 3 digits divided by a space.

My camera (after WW2 model) carries the patent text: DBP

Otherwise the camera is equal to yours.
