It may be down to how you handle your filters. As I said, I frequently use very long exposures in excess of 45 minutes. I don't get light leaks,

I don't get light leaks, I am curious why you need to go to 45 minutes that you don't get with 10? Can you post a 45 minutes exposure??? For sure my filters get mistreated, like shooting in Hokkaido in January with -30, but they are just tools.

Giulio Zanni Posted September 10, 2016 Share #24 Posted September 10, 2016 I use film more often than not. Yes but 45 minutes even at 50 iso in daylight you must need something like a 30 stops ND?
honcho Posted September 10, 2016 Share #25 Posted September 10, 2016 (edited) Yes but 45 minutes even at 50 iso in daylight you must need something like a 30 stops ND? No. Usually 16-19 stops. Sometimes less. Edited September 10, 2016 by honcho
Giulio Zanni Posted September 10, 2016 Share #26 Posted September 10, 2016 No. Usually 16-19 stops. Sometimes less. Sometime I just use a rain cover to get everything dark, camera + filters
