borowiec Posted September 6, 2016 Share #1 Posted September 6, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have a loaner M 240 while mine is in Germany for repairs (due to failing shutter, as I posted in early June). I haven't used the loaner in several weeks, as I bought a Sony A7IIR when my M stopped working. However, I need to use the loaner M now and, when I turn it on and press the Info button, I get a message in red saying Check Battery (I see that there are many posts about a Check Battery Life message, but that's not what mine says so I'm not sure if it's the same thing). Also, the camera displays that message regardless of which battery is in the camera: the one provided with the loaner or the two from my own M. The batteries all seem to charge properly, and to hold charge. What should I do?

Bill Livingston Posted September 6, 2016 Share #3 Posted September 6, 2016 Actually, the best thing to do would be to update the camera software... I would imagine the loan camera is running the older software if you have had it for a few weeks... this 'bug' was dealt with in the latest update a couple of weeks or so ago... borowiec Posted September 6, 2016 Author Share #4 Posted September 6, 2016 Thank you! It hadn't occurred to me to check the firmware version—I assumed that it would have the latest, as it came from Leica, but it had 2.0.0.12. Anyway, I've installed the newest firmware and the message is gone .
Steve Ricoh Posted September 6, 2016 Share #5 Posted September 6, 2016 In Germany since early June, wow that's a l-o-n-g time! My M240 was away for 8w in toatal and I thought that was bad, you definitely get the biscuit! I suppose having a loaners softens the blow. Hope you have better luck than me with the replacement shutter,
