Celebrating the first Pride Parade in Southampton for 15 years, this transgender person is happy to be photographed. Although the first Gay pride rally was held in London in 1972 many smaller cities in the United Kingdom have been slow in celebrating LGBT diversity, but with a large student population Southampton has finally caught up with modern thinking at a colourful fun-filled event. I was on the lookout also for photos for the National geographic assignment about hair, and felt this fitted the bill.

I'm always surprised on imagination of those pride parade participants! They mostly amused me!

Thanks for looking. I am still editing images from the day, but there were some great people there who were more than happy to be photographed.
