wilfredo Posted August 26, 2016 Share #1 Posted August 26, 2016 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) ...and I've been playing with it over the last few days. SONY ARII first shot with 90mm M Hexanon, second shot with 90mm Elmarit R. Ironically, I got this camera for those times when I want to shoot color. Looking forward to using it with all my M lenses. I will have to go back to read it. Here's one more for the road of my lovely wife. This is with the 50mm LUX ASPH on the SONY AR7II. She's my favorite subject. Cheers! Welcome, dear visitor! fotografr Posted August 27, 2016 Share #8 Posted August 27, 2016 All are excellent portraits, but I have to say I hope you kept your Monochrom. In my opinion, the tones and overall image quality you were getting from the MM were superior to what the Sony produces.
wilfredo Posted August 27, 2016 Author Share #9 Posted August 27, 2016 Rodrigue, I went back to read about your experience in Cuba, thank you. Change is already happening there, the old cars are being refurbished to look new. My cousin had an old Chevy that was painted blue with a brush. Now it's obvious they are doing some serious body work to the cars. It's only a matter of time before the 21st century comes crasing through. Ciao Khalil. wilfredo Posted August 27, 2016 Author Share #10 Posted August 27, 2016 All are excellent portraits, but I have to say I hope you kept your Monochrom. In my opinion, the tones and overall image quality you were getting from the MM were superior to what the Sony produces. This camera was meant to replace the Canon. The Canon will be on E-Bay soon. I am going to run some tests comparing the Monochrom type I to the AR7II. I've never been a big fan of CMOS sensors for B&W but without a doubt the Sony is making me think twice. BTW, I still enjoy using the D2 for portraits, Ive never parted with that camera.
wilfredo Posted August 29, 2016 Author Share #11 Posted August 29, 2016 Brent: I should also add that the first two shots were Post Processed as JPEGS, which is not my usual workflow. My IMAC at work doesn't open Sony Raw files and that's what I used. The last shot I Post Processed as a RAW file. I'm continuing the exploration...
