Square filters on the Leica Super-Elmar-S

Hi Vieri,

Great solution, didn't know that adapter existed.

The 4" Lee Filter holder takes a 95mm adapter for use with the 24mm lens.  When trying it on my lens I get the slightest vignetting from the ring when using one filter slot on the adapter.  Selectively grinding of the ring might alleviate the vignetting.   Iirc two slots on the holder causes greater vignetting.

Occasionally I will hold the filter in my hand and place it close to the lens, no holders involved.  Possible flare issues arise as they do with holders and the light leaking gaps.

Hi darylgo,

thank you very much, I am glad you found it useful. The beauty of this solution is that it does not vignette, even with two filter slots, and it stays in place without having to hold it or anything of that sort :D

very helpful and practical!

Albert  :D  :D  :D

Thank you very much Albert, I am glad my article helped! :D

Best,

Ok went the expensive route with the Lee 150 system. The filter selection is limited but I got a little stopper and cpol and soft grad for it which are the filters I use most often. It's solidly built but it's larger and more expensive. No compromises with vignetting and you can stack filters.

thedigitalbean, I thought about it but since I don't like 150mm filters I went and looked for an alternative solution. With the Push-On Holder you can stack two 100m filters, without any vignetting whatsoever, which is pretty great IMO.

Great!  :)

Thank you basse, glad you found it helpful :D

Best,
