wlaidlaw Posted August 20, 2016 Share #1 Posted August 20, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Christies in London is soon going to be selling the Leica Family tree https://www.dpreview.com/news/4860415533/leica-historical-family-tree-is-up-for-auction-at-christies. Many of us will be familiar with this from the reception at Leica. I don't know if it featured in the new building in Wetzlar as I yet have to visit that but I remember it from Solms and an earlier version in Wetzlar from my visit with my father in the 1960's. I am astonished Leica is selling this, which I would regard as the family silver. The estimated price is £350,000 to £450,000, which seems rather low to me, if you consider it includes an ur, at least two if not three prototypes and two reporters, plus various rarities like an MP-2 and various other valuable cameras. What do others feel about Leica selling its history to the highest bidder? I am sure the Leitz family must be turning in their graves. Wilson

It is not Leica offering it for sale.
