pico Posted August 29, 2016 Share #3 Posted August 29, 2016 (edited) Stu, he's actually showing off his parking place. I'll bet he lurked for hours to get it. Yah, I like the hardware store numbers, too. Herbie had more class. http://images.yuku.com.s3.amazonaws.com/image/jpeg/7711671e50ba322c223a4262060f2c1aac462ed7.JPG Edited August 29, 2016 by pico

BTW: Some organization is selling Beetles tricked out to look just like Herbie. as a result of The Love Bug I refer to all VW Beetles as "Herbies." Aside, I am giving my '58 Bug to my niece. She is an astounding person: brilliant, tenacious, a mother of four working for her PhD, and drop-dead beautiful. Next we will learn how much she decides to learn about practically third-world auto mechanics. http://www.digoliardi.net/58bug.jpg Speaking of Herbies, when I lived in the boonies a favorite cowgirl of mine came back from Florida with a local beer. She called me and said, "Come on over! I got a case of Herbies!" Edited August 30, 2016 by pico
wlaidlaw Posted September 10, 2016 Share #6 Posted September 10, 2016 Isn't that a capital offence in some states? When I was rebuilding the wreck of the 1977 911 3.3L RSR, that I had found in a California scrap yard, the bodyshop doing the paint, were desperate to paint it metalflake white with multi colour Martini striping all over it, contrasting colour wing bulges etc etc and were very disappointed when I insisted on having it painted in plain dark green metallic all over. I then found that they had put multi-coloured Carrera transfers on the sides, in red white and blue. They had to remove them at their expense and replace with the plain silver I had ordered. The numbers are because it is on the Scottish Malts Trial when photographed. Wilson Welcome, dear visitor!
