My X-Vario, all dressed up:

Nice! The silver and black Vario is classier looking than the all black (now discontinued) which I have (pictured above with Olympus EVF). But it still works great! Hope you're enjoying this camera as much as I am!

My X Vario, all dressed down :)

The hood is a metal one by JJC - works perfectly, even at 28mm and costs a fraction of Leica's.

wow! Which case is that? A real beauty!

Thanks  :)

It is actually a full case, but too cumbersome to use in that configuration. Hence, I only use it as a half-case.

The nice thing is that unlike the Leica version, the half-case doesn't need to be removed to access the battery and exchange it, thanks to an opening in the bottom plate. In addition, I can use it with a tripod as the mounting screw has an inner threat to accept the tripod screw.

I don't remember where I bought it (eBay or Amazon).

Apparently, still available from Amazon UK: https://www.amazon.co.uk/TP-Handmade-Genuine-Leather-Opening/dp/B00GFTRD6Y

Here is my Leica XV. It is equipped with an Eliopan filter, a conversion ring 43mm to 52mm and Nikon HN-3 lens hood. The HN-3 is slightly larger than Leica XV hood , so no edge in the corners  at 28mm. Excuse for the poor quality of photography, taken by a Sony!
