Leica Q Hood Problem

Hi All

Has anyone else had this problem.

About 6 weeks ago, I took the hood off my Q and just used the ring supplied over the hood threads and put the hood in my cabinet. The hood has always fitted just fine.

Anyway, I've just tried to put the hood back on the Q and it won't go all the way into position. Very odd.

To get it on properly I'm feeling like it would require a bit of force so I backed off doing it.

There has been no damage to the hood at all so I'm wondering what's going on here.

Thanks.

A suggestion I read on this forum that works great is simply rub some oil which collects on your skin on your face or nose into the threads of filters or the hood. I admit it's a bit unusual and I had not thought to do it, but once I tried the idea, it's a winner. And yes, the last 1/8 turn is tight at least for the first half dozen times I tried removing and reinstalling the hood. Good luck.

That's the one. Grim, but solved!  :D
