Re-Installing Printer Driver

I recently upgraded my Mac's OS to the latest version so naturally had to go through the process of re-installing all of my drivers.  Fine.

I just finished installing my Printer Driver and have a question/concern.

My printer is an Epson P800 SureColor so I went to the Driver Download section of the Epson site and started the usual procedure.

When it came time to "Connect" my printer's USB to my computer I saw that it was already plugged in.  "Crap".  The instructions state NOT to connect it until prompted to.

I was already well into it and decided to press on.

I then turned on the power conditioner I have the printer connected to then the printer.

I finished the installation and the next screen read:  "Operation Successful".

I printed the test page which was fine and closed the program.

I am going to assume the installation went fine even though I made the mistake with the USB cable being already connected?

With the printer powered off at the mains supply but connected I think it's the same as disconnected. This might not be the case if there is still power going to the printer but the printer is switched off.

If the test print was OK should not be a problem. Just print another image.

You could always open up time machine a go back to a point before you started the installation but should not be necessary.

All you need now is Image Print 10. IP 10 works very well with the SC800 and inspite of the price I feel it is worth every penny/ cent.

Thanks folks.

Well, I went back in and drug everything I could find related to this printer to trash.  Including some dead drivers left over from the old OS printer drivers plus old Epson user guides, etc.

Emptied the trash, did a restart and installed fresh.  Test page was perfect.

So now I'm happy.  I know I would have always, in the back of my head, thought something got screwed up because I didn't follow protocol the first time.

Thanks again,

Scott
