M8.2 snapshot mode (when one is in a silly mood)

I decided to break out the M8.2 today and take snapshots at Universal Studios Hollywood.  That's right, snapshots using the "S" mode on the camera.  It was very difficult breaking the old habits of resetting the focus to infinity after a series of shots, rather just leaving it at 5m (@f/5.6 with a 28mm lens) and using the camera as a point and shoot.  Generally, I do better when I monitor the selected shutter speed, or set it myself, and lost 20% or so of the action images to too slow of a setting.  For stationary scenes, it worked just fine:

What does this mode do again? Is it simply A with Auto ISO? I have an M8 with full upgrades (meaning top speed of 1/4000), but the S mode is not included.

This is the first time I've heard of anybody using this mode deliberately . It is: Auto ISO, JPG fine, AWB and these parameters greyed out in menu.

Too bad it's JPEG only (should have guessed it, though). Otherwise, this would be a great shortcut between A with fixed ISO and Auto ISO.

 

Good thing it's not on my camera then.
