focus peaking

Is focus peaking broken since the last patch?  Maybe it is too faint that I can't see it?

It seems to need really high contrast edges to show up.

i did a bit of macro work the other day and didn't see the peaking once.

but a silhouetted tree, and a cityscape i shot a few days earlier lit up like a christmas tree.
