Photoshop CC 2015.5

This will be out pretty soon, I have been looking a previes. It is pretty much amazing. The content aware technology has been implemented flawlessly in masking, making difficult stuff like hair incredibly easy to mask. Liquefy has a face correction facility that makes portraits more than easy to correct and the Content Aware Crop makes composition after the fact pretty easy. I'm sure there'll be more, but these features already going to speed up my processing quite a bit.

Sorry for the plug of Scott, but it is informative (and he makes no jokes here, fortunately;)

They have to keep coming up with new stuff or people will stop paying rent.

There is nothing new here.   I can do all this manually in previously editions and it is not hard.

Plus downloading stopped me from using CC at all.   Two calls to Adobe 4 days apart, 2 hours wasted talking to someone in India I could barely understand.  I paid the whole year in advance,  but it it would only ask me if I wanted to start a trial.

I guess this is what happens if there is a monopoly.

Capture One ?

To be fair,  the lap top updated  without issue 3 months back.   I think I did it to update LR so I could tether for a project,  but I never looked into PS.

But I assume automating the features saves a lot of time.

Hmmm..I wonder how you are going to simulate content aware technology without extraordinary amounts of cloning.

I think I am not bad at PS, but I really wonder how you think you can do that kind of stuff without spending hours on one image. I would simply have started the trial and then registered.

content aware fill was in CS6  Make a selection , then fill, check content aware box.  No big deal.  There was way of doing  of fill in cropped triangles or a rectangle to to make a 8x10 from 2x3 ratio when the subject went edge to edge.

Hair selection was done easily back when Mr. Brown was there.  Much the same way,  as now.   Do your selection hair and body,  then refine edge and brush around hair and it picks up all the strays.  If you do a lot of lifting,  then there a commercial programs that do it well.

I tried to update the laptop and found it already done and there were no issues.   The Mac Pro was nothing but trouble.

Sucking eggs ;). I'm sure you can and so can I, but this takes away a bunch of work an adds precision. The same with content aware crop. No more content aware healing or when it fails masking and cloning, it happens within a moment of time. I have both CS6 and CC and my experience is that as a whole CC does outpace its predecessor and the gap widens with each update.  I'm sure they are rewriting the algorithms all the time.

I'm hoping that they will expand the content-aware liquidize from just the face to general. It would help with belly and breast tucks, especially with striped shirts ;)

Actually I like it that the updates are in the subscription, If I compare with a full update every three years or so, it is actually a bit less expensive, and you get the incremental improvements as soon as they happen.

My MacPro   ( a venerable 2010, but fully upgraded) had no issues.

Adobe now admits that the latest versions of Photoshop and Lightroom produce incorrect colors when using Mac OSX, printing to either Canon or Epson.

An article today on LuLa by Mark Segal prompted an overdue response from Adobe, indicating that a fix will be available in August.

This reinforces my decision to use ImagePrint10 for printing from LR on my Mac Pro.  Not the first time Adobe and/or Apple have messed up colors or color management....and not told us.  (And this is about the only time I've been happy to have LR standalone version, which doesn't provide major interim updates....another nice Adobe touch.)

Others may want to consider going back to prior version until fix is issued.

Segal used the same custom profile that he had been using with Ilford Gold Fibre Silk.  Every variable in his print chain, including the print driver, remained constant except the version of Photoshop or LR that he used.  The problem disappeared when he reverted to the prior PS or LR iteration.

Adobe admitted the issue with their software, which is integral to the print workflow.  I don't believe that they specified the exact nature of the bug.

My most used CC applications are Lightroom, Photoshop, and Muse (I have the full  CC suite).  The most recent updates for all three have introduced significant bugs.  Two websites I created and maintain with Muse quit working and had to be re-authored after I rolled back to the previous version.  I used to just automatically update my CC applications to take advantage of the new functionality. Now I will wait to let others discover how badly Adobe has broken them.

As I was leaving the house yesterday, my lady said, "Get something that makes me look beautiful."

So I got drunk.

I am finding that my problems arise when the little 'vampire' called Apple Photos decides that it wants to get into my SD card when I try to import with Lightroom. The competition between the two softwares causes Lightroom to lock up. If I tell Photos that I do not want to use it for a particular card it 'retires 'but if I reformat the card the nonsense starts all over again. I have found that auto import into Lightroom overcomes this 'lock up' but it messes up my Lightroom Library. When I first started using Apple and Lightroom together 6 years ago I did not have these problems and everything worked beautifully but with El-Capitan and CC together the whole thing has become very unpredictable and flaky. Is this progress?

There is a way to switch off Photos import for all cards. Some Binging will find the way, I'm about to take a shower so can't help.
