Rangefinder / Lens Calibration in London

Recommended Posts

Lots of bitty threads on this but I was wondering whether anyone had any recommendations in London for rangefinder calibration and maybe lenses.

I'd prefer not to send to Solms as I don't want to be without my camera for a decade.  :D

Any suggestions of who I should contact?

Speak to Ivor Cooper at Red Dot Cameras. I concur about not sending to Leica in Germany. They take a long time and cost a lot. I believe it is Wetzlar now and not Solms. My own experience of Solms was not encouraging. Maybe they have improved since moving to Wetzlar, but I found it was like dealing with a 'civil service' that runs to its own clock.

hi there. I was considering the same question and I wandered in to the Leica Mayfair where they cleaned my M240 sensor when I visited London and noted stubborn dust on it, free while I waited. Do the technicians there do any camera/lens calibration?

Regards Robin.
