ns_ng Posted June 2, 2016 Author Share #6 Posted June 2, 2016 That is superb -- a really atmospheric and unusual approach that captures the event very well indeed. I enjoyed seeing this. Thanks Alun. I waited for several hours for the climax of this event. It was only at around 11.00pm, the lanterns were released. With the 19mm, I was trying to frame both the crowd and the lanterns up in the air. I have the M240 with me, but I needed to shoot at IS0 10000 and here the Sony A7r2 was able to capture this scene. In the distant background, you can see the stupa of the Borobudur temple. ns_ng Posted June 2, 2016 Author Share #7 Posted June 2, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Absolutely wonderful! Thanks! This is the first time I have been to this type of event. I might go back again the next year. It is only about 2 hours flying time from Singapore.
ns_ng Posted June 2, 2016 Author Share #8 Posted June 2, 2016 This is a very beautiful image. Thanks! Someone commented the lanterns in the dark sky are like lighted up jellyfish! I have other shots, but this captured the flow of the lanterns from near ground level up to the sky. They soon became just tiny dots of light in the night sky.
