Not with manual settings.

 

I disagree. Respectfully.

If the camera were set to change by metering it should equal out. Manual settings with that much more bright reflected light introduced to the sensor and the exposure would look different.

Yes, but that is exactly the point of the thread; all parameters were fixed, so no metering was involved.

 

That's right. No metering involved. The metering would/should have adjusted. No metering means extra light thrown at the sensor resulting in a different exposure look.  ???

I think we are talking completely at cross-purposes trying to say the same thing.

There are other variable factors.

 

The framing is different in the two photos, meaning that the photographer moved his position, even if only very slightly, which would have an effect on the reflected light bouncing around in a small room like that. Given how slight the exposure difference appears, this could easily account for it, as well as any tiny shift in the light coming through the window.
