I have a strange set.

A 1957 Leitz Summicron f=5cm 1:2 version 2 optical part together with both the Rigid and the DR mounts.

All the 3 parts have the same serial number.

A special order I guess.

Yes, Leica did such things for customers. For example, I know that you could have a rigid Summicron v2 in bayonet mount together with an additional screw mount, and both the bayonet mount and the screw mount would carry the serial number of the lens head to show that this particular lens head has been adjusted to both the screw mount and the bayonet mount. Thus, owners of, say, a Leica IIIg and a Leica M3 could use one and the same lens head for both cameras.

Your set, although serving a somewhat different situation, is proof of how customer friendly the old Leitz factory was in those days (I am not implying that they are no longer customer friendly today).

Best,

Andy
