Did Leica ever supply an extention tube to screw on to the X1 to fit filters, lens hood etc? It seems strange to provide the screw off lens ring revealing a nice metal thread and never producing any accessories to attach! An early Panasonic camera had a similar arrangement and came complete with screw on lens hood. I have seen various screw on accessories on fleabay which come with filters etc. but look rather dubious in origin! Has anyone tried these? gbealnz Posted May 6, 2016 Share #3 Posted May 6, 2016 Yep, me too, mainly 'cos I'm a "Kiwi" Works a treat, and I even used it with my Elpro lenses the other day for a close up. Work as good as the Elpro on the X-Vario? Nope, not even close, but it did work, and in most cases allows filters, hoods etc to be used perfectly.
