fotografr Posted May 1, 2016 Share #1 Posted May 1, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) My DL(109) has started exhibiting strange behavior occasionally when first turned on. It won't autofocus and red numerals appear at the bottom of the LCD that read, "0.03 - Infinity." When I turn the camera off and back on, it functions normally. Has anyone experienced this? I thought perhaps I'd inadvertently set something in the menu so I did a reset but the issue persists.
Advertisement Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Hi fotografr, Take a look here DL(109) Focusing Problem. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Adam Posted May 2, 2016 Share #2 Posted May 2, 2016 (edited) I have had that too, like twice or three times over the last year and a half. I thought it might be due to me accidentally pressing the lens, when it turns on and starts to expand. It goes away after turning it off and on. I never could replicate the error on demand. fotografr Posted May 2, 2016 Author Share #3 Posted May 2, 2016 Thanks,Adam. I'd been wondering if using a collapsable lens cap was somehow affecting the motor that extends and retracts the lens. I took it off but the problem persists. I think I'll have to send it in.
Adam Posted May 2, 2016 Share #4 Posted May 2, 2016 Let me know if you do. I am curious if it is something more serious. Let us hope it is nothing to worry about. I don't have a collapsible lens cap, but I do have a filter and the cap on a string. Because of the filter, the string is not long enough when the lens extends, so there is tension when I turn the camera on with the cap on. The lens should retract automatically when faced with resistance but seems to be less inclined to do so when nearly fully extended.
