This car was recently restored in Auckland, and will be shortly exported to the UK.

 

All taken with the SL and 24-90 zoom (some with the SF40, when I got it to fire the way I wanted it to).

Engine fully restored, and sounds wonderful - we didn't go out for a ride; I could only imagine what that howling straight 6 would sound like ...

This car has a little leather belt, which threads through the bottom of the grill to hold the bonnet latch locked.  The story goes that a bonnet latch on an XK150 failed, the bonnet flew open and impaled the driver with the leaping jaguar, killing him.

 

Maybe apocryphal - Wilson will be able to shed light on that story, I'm sure.
