Camera control differences between SL and other Leicas

My biggest complaint with Leica at the moment is the difference or lack of consistency of settings from one camera to the next.

An example, when the M240 was released, to adjust exposure compensation you had to hold down a button on the front of the camera while simultaneously turn the rear dial. It was hard to do.

Online debate raged about whether it would be better to have the dial just change it on its own with the button. "What if you bump the dial" etc etc.

Finally Leica agreed, and implemented a fix in firmware.

Fast forward to the SL. When released you have to hold a button while turning a wheel to adjust exposure compensation.

People complain about it, and 6 months after the camera is released, we now have the ability to adjust exp comp with just a wheel.

Other examples of inconsistencies:

EVF brightness control - M240 Yes - Leica T Yes - Leica SL No

Ability to turn off Exposure Simulation or Exp Preview (crucial for studio use with flashes) - M240 Yes - Leica T No - Leica SL Yes

Video Button Assignment - M240 Yes - Leica SL No

There are plenty more I am sure that I don't know about, but it seems strange not to benefit from lessons learnt from the M240, T, Q and SL and use those to improve all cameras.

Are there anymore you know about that still exist?

Please discuss...
