M6 Overlapping Frames

Hi Guys and Girls

Having a bit of a meltdown, my m6 classic overlapped some frames, i thought nothing of it, them my developer called me ad told me ether are more on my last rolls, (have not seen them yet) i have read some threads regarding issues with the teeth etc on the wind on mechanism, i put an dud roll in the camera and carefully watched as the correct amount of holes passed for the full roll, i am also hopeful it could be the "active rewind nob being moved by my jacket as i wear it religiously under my jacket everyday on my motorbike commute, i hop it is this as posting for repairs is painful, please someone set my mind at rest at least and tell me it is at least a easy fix for an expert, as i ma really enjoying shooting at the moment.

It is easy to fix.

FWIW sometimes even on a well maintained camera it can be possible to get inconsistent frame spacing if you advance the film in two short strokes of the lever (a valid technique) rather than one long stroke. So make sure you are doing that if only some frames are overlapping.

Whether there is something wrong with the camera is hard to tell from here. The best thing to do is to check whether it is indeed your technique, or very stiff film canisters, or something similar.  If not, send the camera in to one of the excellent repair shops that exist.

In your case, CRR Luton or Will van Manen Kameraservice in the Netherlands.

Wow thanks guys, i had the camera from 2007, and unfortunately due to moving to malta and having no labs it sat for quite some time i recently found a hand printer.processor on the island so after four years  i dusted her off, , i had a full service at aperture uk in london and an excellent service might i add, Steve i think what you said about double strokes is very likely true,  Thanks for your help guys. i think i will run a roll of cheap film through on monday and see what happens before committing to send to london
