moosehead Posted April 19, 2016 Share #1 Posted April 19, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have done a search for this and I am getting conflicting answers, some say dead pixel, some say software problem sensor need remapping and some say SD card? and loads go way off topic. I have emailed Leica service but in the meantime anyone know exactly what causing this, it appears in both JPEG and RAW but not all of the time. Thanks in advance. Welcome, dear visitor! jaapv Posted April 19, 2016 Share #2 Posted April 19, 2016 As far as I can see on this small JPG it looks like a pixel line. Is it always in the same place? Send the camera in.

omalat Posted April 19, 2016 Share #4 Posted April 19, 2016 Hi Gerry, I had exactly the same problem on my M9. The Leica shop said it was a dead pixel and that if I gave it to them, they would send it to Germany for re-mapping which would cost about €160. Instead, I dropped it into the Leica factory and they changed the whole sensor and the cost was zero! It was about the time in 2014 when the sensor corrosion problem was starting to appear. I tried to send you a picture so you could compare but it made the site crash! Let me know if you want me to try again.
jaapv Posted April 19, 2016 Share #5 Posted April 19, 2016 Yes, that is a dead pixel line. Send the camera directly to Wetzlar ( you can request a UPS pickup at LeicaCustomer Service) for mapping/sensor replacement.

moosehead Posted May 31, 2016 Author Share #7 Posted May 31, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Just got my M240 back from Germany sensor remapped (or whatever they did) software update and sensor clean, couldn't wait to try out, put new sd card in and formatted and away I go. Suprise suprise when I see old photos that i had taken some time ago reappear in Photo Bridge, all I can call these are 'ghost' images, once I click on the Raw file to edit them in Bridge they revert to the proper image that is they are the same photo as the jpeg I attach an example apologies taken with iPhone, since it is a new sd card never in any camera before can I assume that something that shouldn't have happened during update, or would it be jus a bug in Photoshop. Thanks for reading. jaapv Posted May 31, 2016 Share #8 Posted May 31, 2016 You must reset your numbering, as they probably updated the camera at the same time. Insert a card with your last photograph before you sent the camera in, take one image and the following photographs will be fine.
