Can't load large pictures anymore.

I'm a sponsoring member so until today I've been able to load pictures up to 1 MB with 1024 pixels on the longest side.  Today when I load a picture over 500 kB I get an error message telling me that the file is too big and it can't be uploaded.  I've checked and when I reduce the file size to less than 500 kB but with 1024 pixels on the longest side the forum's software is quite happy to load it.

Has the picture size allowance changed?  Is anybody else experiencing this?

No it's a single image, Philipp. Initially it was 1.0 MB at Quality: 12, then 768 kB at Quality: 11, and it will only upload when I drop Quality - in Photoshop CS6 before saving - to 8(?) which yields 468 kB.

Solved it I think: I've just noticed that I'm also seeing advertisements so the answer is linked to my sponsorship.  When I've checked it seems that my sponsorship ran out on 6th April although I'm sure it was set to automatically renew but it hasn't.  I've put the payment through manually so hopefully things will return to normal.

I've had no notification that the payment was due or that the automatic payment had not gone through (assuming that it was attempted) so this needs sorting out.  Fortunately my PM limit seems to be unchanged and PM's are okay or some would have been lost.

Very disappointing and not a good way to encourage continued sponsorship.

Hi Philip and Pete

Yes, I'd previously been in touch with Andreas regarding membership renewal, as I wasn't sure when mine would run out.  But had no response.

Andreas may be unnecessarily losing money...an auto reminder would be useful.  Or a Sponsorship renewal date included in "Your Profile" may be easier.

David,

If you want to find out when your renewal is due, click onto your forum name in the top right-hand corner of the screen, in the drop-down menu select "Client Area", then go to Purchases on the left hand side of that screen which will display the date you purchased your premium membership (well, the last renewal date actually on mine), the expiry date, and the annual renewal price.

Thanks Pete, it's easy to loose track.  I had 16 pages of passwords and forums...now culling.  Everything from diesel engines servicing to gardening ( and much photographica).  Now editing.

I see I'm still good for a couple more months, and definitely will be renewing. I enjoy the Forum immensely and feel I have some genuine friends ( and a couple of foes... ).

cheers  Dave S
