HenrikP Posted April 12, 2016 Share #1 Posted April 12, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi all, I'm considering buying a second-hand M 240, in addition to my Q, which I am very happy for. My question is, what is your go to lens? Regards Henrik Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
Advertisement Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 Hi HenrikP, Take a look here What is the most used lens on your M?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
marchyman Posted April 12, 2016 Share #2 Posted April 12, 2016 I use my Q, mostly. I used to pair the Q (and the Fuji X100 that preceded it) with an APS-C DSLR with a 70-200 zoom. 70 on an APS-C was a bit longer than I wanted. These days the DSLR stays home unless I know I'll need its abilities. Now I pair the Q with an M 262 holding a 75mm Summarit combo. It's a new combo for me, but one I think will work well.
CheshireCat Posted April 12, 2016 Share #3 Posted April 12, 2016 If just one lens: 35mm.
satijntje Posted April 12, 2016 Share #4 Posted April 12, 2016 50mm Summilux ASPH for sure.
PaulJohn Posted April 12, 2016 Share #5 Posted April 12, 2016 (edited) I would pair 28mm with a 50mm. Edited April 12, 2016 by PaulJohn
indergaard Posted April 12, 2016 Share #6 Posted April 12, 2016 35 FLE by far
chris_tribble Posted April 12, 2016 Share #7 Posted April 12, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Only one lens, 35mm. Low budget get a Summarit or a used 35 pre-asph. More money, my choice would be the light, compact, elegant 35 summicron asph. Others swear by the faster f1.4 35 summilux.
Peter H Posted April 12, 2016 Share #8 Posted April 12, 2016 35 FLE Though the 35 Summicron asph is gaining ground. The ready acceptance of larger cameras like the SL and bigger lenses has reminded me of the incomparable virtues of a wonderful, tiny lens.
AndrewDD Posted April 12, 2016 Share #9 Posted April 12, 2016 My Zeiss Sonnar CM 50. Amazing bokeh.
jaapv Posted April 12, 2016 Share #10 Posted April 12, 2016 I don't know, I seem to wobble between 35 and 50. For years it was the Summicron 35 asph - I prefer the rendering over the Summilux, even -especially- when shooting in low light , but nowadays I mostly take my Elmar-M 50 for a single lens setup. For my Monochrom it is still the Biogon-C 35. Go figure...
Paul J Posted April 12, 2016 Share #11 Posted April 12, 2016 50 and 35 are my staples. 50 is my favourite and usually my goto. If you are going to have one lens, consider the the 35. I have cropped down a 35 to 50 sort of sizes quite a bit and it looks good. Out of the 35's for me it's the FLE but I love the summicron asph rendering too. You can't go wrong with either.
johnbuckley Posted April 12, 2016 Share #12 Posted April 12, 2016 Over the past 14 years, the 50 Summilux followed by the 35 Summilux. Over the past four years, no question: the 50 APO.
jonoslack Posted April 12, 2016 Share #13 Posted April 12, 2016 Well, if I had to have one lens I guess it would be the 50 summilux Asph. . . . . but but but - my most used lens is unquestionably the 75 APO Summicron.
LocalHero1953 Posted April 12, 2016 Share #14 Posted April 12, 2016 Ditto Summicron 75 Apo, closely followed by Elmarit 28 Asph. But you have the latter FL, so it's no contest
Jennifer Posted April 12, 2016 Share #15 Posted April 12, 2016 Easily my APO-Summicron 50, followed by my Elmarit 28 ASPH
scott kirkpatrick Posted April 12, 2016 Share #16 Posted April 12, 2016 28 Summilux, but I will soon have a 50 APO. We'll see what happens. scott
LucisPictor Posted April 12, 2016 Share #17 Posted April 12, 2016 (edited) On my M8: 1. Voigtländer Ultron 2.0/28 2. Summicron-M 2/50 (IV) 3. Summicron-M 2.0/90 (pre-Asph.) 4. Voigtländer Heliar 2.5/75 5. Voigtländer Heliar 4.5/15 6. Tele-Elmarit-M 2.8/90 7. Leitz Summitar 2.0/5cm On my M6: 1. Summicron-M 2/50 (IV) 2. Summicron-M 2.0/90 (pre-Asph.) 3. Voigtländer Ultron 2.0/28 4. Voigtländer Heliar 2.5/75 5. Voigtländer Heliar 4.5/15 6. Tele-Elmarit-M 2.8/90 7. Leitz Summitar 2.0/5cm If you are goinng to use the M240 as a complement to the Q, you definitely should go for a 50mm lens. Schrödinger's cat Posted April 12, 2016 Share #18 Posted April 12, 2016 The LENS would have to be my Tri Elmar 28 - 35 - 50. The FOCAL LENGTH would be 50.
Mark Pope Posted April 12, 2016 Share #19 Posted April 12, 2016 On my 240 I'd have to say the same as Schrodinger's cat. I can't be sure of the bias towards a articular focal length, as my lens is (was) uncoded, so I had to change the setting in the camera menu: something that I tend to forget to do... However, I'd be inclined to say 50mm is probably the most used focal length.
pvcaesbroeck Posted April 12, 2016 Share #20 Posted April 12, 2016 I started with the 35 Summicron. After a year I bought the 50 Summicron; but I prefer the 35 by far. One camera, one lens = 35 for me.
