bcorton Posted April 4, 2016 Share #1 Posted April 4, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Does anyone know if The Leica SP-40, or any of Leica's new flashes, will work with the R9/DMR? I'm considering a flash for my T and was wondering if it is backwards compatible. I know that the SP-20 (designed for the M6 TTL), and my old Metz 54 (for my R9) don't play well with the Leica T--not even in auto mode, it seems--and certainly not in TTL mode since these were not made for digital sensors. Does anyone know about the newer models? Any help appreciated. Brent
Advertisement Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 Hi bcorton, Take a look here TTL with new flashes????. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jip Posted April 14, 2016 Share #2 Posted April 14, 2016 I use the R8 with the SF 58 and it works fine, the R9 even works in HSS mode on the SF 58 Just like the M240 and S006 I have used with the flash gun. Locutus Posted April 14, 2016 Share #3 Posted April 14, 2016 Honestly i find the SF-58 a tiny bit overpriced at the 350-400 euros they go for.... Sadly enough i was just outbid today on a Metz MZ54 + SCA 3502. I think outside of the SF-58 itself thats the most recent/modern combination you are going to find compatible with the R8/9
