RW, I have 2 Coolscan and both use the Nikon software Red Green Blue calibrated in Tiff.

It's a good and simple software. If photos need to be corrected I utlise LR or SE
Why make it complicated , when it can be simple. It saves from buying Vuescan

Money saved to buy an enlarger for printing on paper , that's better :)
All my photos posted here are scanned and uncorrected (advantage of film versus digital

M8 or M9)

Another word , I develop myself film color or b&w :)

Try the Nikon software , compare and give me your opinion.

When I had my Epson V700 , same comment. I do not use Silverfast which comes free with

the scanner  when purchasing

Good photos
