Jeff S Posted March 29, 2016 Share #2 Posted March 29, 2016 Only for CC......standalone (perpetual license) LR users only get new camera support. Jeff
andybarton Posted March 29, 2016 Share #3 Posted March 29, 2016 According to the Adobe website, LR6 is now at v6.5 Lightroom CC 2015.5 and Lightroom 6.5 are now available on Adobe.com. Our focus with this release was to add support for new cameras and lenses, and also fix many bugs that existed in previous versions of Lightroom. Jeff S Posted March 29, 2016 Share #4 Posted March 29, 2016 According to the Adobe website, LR6 is now at v6.5 Lightroom CC 2015.5 and Lightroom 6.5 are now available on Adobe.com. Our focus with this release was to add support for new cameras and lenses, and also fix many bugs that existed in previous versions of Lightroom. Let me re-phrase....only new camera support, bug fixes and other minor tweaks....but no cool new features, which don't really exist in this release. Unlike LR 5 and prior, LR 6 perpetual license users need to wait until LR7 (assuming that even remains a standalone option) to get any useful new features. For example, CC users have already received the de-haze tool, ability to locally adjust local black/white points (I'd love to have this), and various panoramic boundary improvements. The obvious goal for Adobe is to get folks to switch to CC rather than put up with the standalone version, including the well publicized difficulties people have had even accessing the standalone version for purchase or upgrade on the Adobe site. I think it's only a matter of time when CC will be the only option. Jeff
sanyasi Posted March 29, 2016 Share #5 Posted March 29, 2016 There are those who object to the subscription model, but they are fighting a losing battle if Adobe's stock price is any indicator. It closed today at $93, up around $20 over the last year.
