film in checked flight luggage

I have been using a Domke lead lined bag and was surprised to see the film inside the bag evident on the screen when it was recently scanned at Manchester Airport. It was more of a 'shadow' rather than a detailed image, but clearly some of the x-ray appeared to be getting through the lead.

I just got one of these for my trip to China. I travel light (2 weeks, 2 bags, all carry on) and forgot the bloody thing was lead lined. I'm taking Cinestill 50 and 800 as well.

For a weight weenie like me this thing weighs a ton.

Sorry, forgot to revisit this thread.

I know you've all been in urinary retention with excitement and anticipation.

The ISO 800 negatives are fine, maybe the photos could be better.

I just checked in a bag last minute and forgot I had all my unprocessed film in it.

5 rolls of Ektar 100, 2 of Portra 160 and a few b/w rolls.

One of the worst feelings right now. Please wish me luck, that Acores scanners aren't too harsh.

I have traveled a few weeks ago to Germany (roundtrip USA-Germany) and used an old but still nearly mint lead bag to wrap my unexposed and later exposed FP4+ 125 and one XP2 400 films in it. The bag was not an issue anywhere when I had my carry-on luggage with my camera bag scanned at the safety check-in.
