Leica Summarit 50mm f1.5 Bokeh

I own both the Summarit and the Summitar. I like the swirl bokeh of Summitar better. 

 

What do you think?

The first image is especially good. The second one is good as an abstract, but for me, it lacks a subject.

 Do you know there is a Bokeh thread in Photo Forum "Other".  You can see photos made with various lenses and the critiques are mostly good.

I used to own one of these lenses and have to say it is the only Leica lens I've used that produced a bokeh I didn't like. I find it more distracting than pleasing.

Well, with all the fancy talk just remember that the little V-LUX 114 is a tough competitor. I love number one but Nothing in the photo graph is tack sharp.

You are right. People shooting antique lenses are not looking for sharpness. Anyone bought a 1950's Ferrari expected to drive it at 200mph?
