BCMielke Posted February 29, 2016 Share #1 Posted February 29, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) As I was using the 60mm macro the other day for some tabletop shooting, the aperture ring became jammed, unfortunately my first instinct kicked in which was to turn it harder! This resolved the problem, but now I find that I have turned my 60mm into a Cine lens. The aperture changes, but no longer clicks and holds it's aperture settings very well. I have taken apart lenses before and resolved easy issues, but I believe this will take a part. Because of that it will probably be best handled by outside repair. Before I send it out I thought best to ask a few questions here. How much money would a repair of this type cost? Since I needed to send the lens out for a period of time I thought I might as well have the lens CLA'd as well can I get both done at the same time? If so, where I would send it to? I am in the Chicago area.

TomB_tx Posted March 1, 2016 Share #2 Posted March 1, 2016 Don Goldberg (DAG Camera repair) is near your area, and there is no one better. He did my 60 macro years ago, and it is perfect.

mmx_2 Posted March 1, 2016 Share #4 Posted March 1, 2016 (edited) This could be an easy fix. I think the little bearing ball (making the clicks) has come out of position. Worst case, it has fallen into the lens... Easy fix: it's still close to it's original postion. There is a very good description here: http://leitax.com/conversion/leica/elmarit-60-macro/index.html Otherwise I would also send it to someone like DAG. Unless something really needs to be changed, the work shouldn't cost more than 150-250$. uncletc Posted March 4, 2016 Share #5 Posted March 4, 2016 +1 for Don Goldberg (DAG) who repaired my R-60mm Macro late last year. Lens focuses so perfectly now and worked so well that it literally becomes the standard lens on my Nikon Df.

Did you Leitax the mount of the 60mm? Yes, I did it myself more than 2 years ago and Don repair the lens without a problem. I recall reading somewhere that DAG can do the Leitax for customers upon request, although I've not inquired. Best luck.
