MacSpikes Posted February 29, 2016 Share #1 Posted February 29, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) My second (backup) R9+DMR is having troubles: - When the R9 is switched off and I insert a fresh (and refurbished) battery, the DMR will boot with the Leica screen - It always chooses EV -2 or EV -3 and I cannot change this.- After firing the shutter the red recording led will start and continue flashing, but nothing is recorded. I contacted Leica (Uwe Stiller) and received the answer that they cannot repair anymore due to lack of spare parts (which we knew). Is there someone that tried repairing the DMR and/or is willing to try and fix mine? I'd really hate to part with this camera system!

jaapv Posted February 29, 2016 Share #2 Posted February 29, 2016 First make sure that the contacts are clean.

jaapv Posted February 29, 2016 Share #4 Posted February 29, 2016 In that case you have a real problem... Grasping at straws: try another SD card.
stuny Posted March 3, 2016 Share #5 Posted March 3, 2016 Don't forget to use a pencil eraser in the batter compartment to clean those contacts, too.
graeme_clarke Posted March 5, 2016 Share #6 Posted March 5, 2016 Back in the recess of my mind is that settings changed on the film back of a R9 may alter the settings on the DMR. The advice at the time was to re-install the film back and batteries, switch on then set all the controls that can alter compensation both on the camera back and the in the viewfinder to 0 and film ISO to 100. Switch off the camera then install the DMR, taking care as Jaap and Stuart have said to make sure all the contacts are clean and pushed together tightly when screwing the base and body together. I had this problem a long time ago and I followed these steps. Slowly slide in the battery so that it seats without turning anything on - sometimes on mine if I push a refurbished battery in quickly it switches the DMR on even though all the controls are set to off. Turn the DMR on and check to see if the ISO is at 100, no red lights are flashing and the position of the compensation control in the viewfinder is at 0. That's all I can suggest so I hope it helps... Best wishes, Graeme
